BACKGROUND |
| Debra may have started in the fitness industry,
but her love and appreciation of good food soon led her to work
for food companies between San Diego and San Francisco. Always
a writer (she was first published at aged 8 in a children’s
book of poetry called First Impressions), Debra knew she wanted
to write about food. In order to lend credibility to her craft
and simply become a more accomplished cook, Debra attended culinary
school in San Francisco while working for a small olive oil
company. She has honed her marketing and PR skills over the
years at food companies large and small. Debra earned her B.A.
from San Diego State University, where she majored in journalism
with an emphasis in Public Relations. |

STRENGTHS |
| Debra’s combined love for writing and cooking
were apparent long before she had to bring home a paycheck.
She has a strong understanding of food with regard to fitness
and nutrition, the importance of food in our history and as
a society, as well as strong environmental sensibilities. Moreover,
if she’s excited about it, you’re going to know
about it! Debra is never quiet about her passions and she’s
passionate about good food. |
